According to ayurvedic nutrition, the things we eat directly affect not only our weight and energy levels, but also our overall emotional well being. Today, there are so many fad diets that it is difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. Ultimately, there is no "truth" to "healthy" eating; rather, there are a number of approaches which can be combined to personalize each person's nutrition to fit them at specific periods in their life. In this workshop, we will explore different approaches that explain the link between nutrition and yoga - participants will be introduced to maintream sports nutrition, ayurvedic nutrition, the glycemic index of foods, the role of acid/alkaline balance, and and the importance of proper food combining. We will also discuss the role of eating "consciously" and the principles of food vibrations.

detoxify to live - improving health through proper cleansing

Cleansing is an essential part of maintaining optimal health. However, choosing when and how to cleanse can be confusing, and a lack of information can lead to an uncomfortable cleansing experience. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to several different approaches to dietary cleanses, and we will review how to choose which cleanse to go on and at what times. Participants will learn helpful hints for ensuring a successful cleanse, and we will study the importance of fiber, water, and vitamin intake during cleanses. We will also discuss the cleansing aspects of yoga and the breath.
